How to Choose a Private Charter Jet Company

Selecting a private charter jet company is more than simply arranging a flight. You may easily establish a long-term relationship with the company you choose, so investing your time wisely in the selection process can gain you not only a comfortable and safe flight, but an ongoing association with a company you trust to meet your needs time and time again.

Speak Frankly and Expect the Same

So long as you are serious about arranging travel with a charter jet company, the operators will be more than glad to speak with you at length about their services. Like many other industries, expect airline jargon to enter the conversation and be sure to ask for clarification if you aren't familiar with a term or concept.

In return speak frankly about your expectations and needs. Not only is your comfort and convenience a consideration for your selection, but your safety and the importance and timeliness of the business you're conducting must be considered as well.

Verify Documents and Insurance

Be sure to view and discuss the charter company's credentials. Request a copy of the operating certificate, safety record and insurance policy. Give these more than a cursory look, especially the safety record and insurance. If your company has unique insurance policies, be sure to discuss these as well. Understand as well that many charter companies act as agents on behalf of individual aircraft owners, so be sure to understand that relationship as well and check applicable documents.

Obtain and Check References

As with any service offering, the private charter jet company should easily be able to provide you with a list of customer references. When you have a list in hand, take the time to call each and discuss the customer's experience on the company. Listen for hesitations or any uncomfortable moments, but overall it should be simple to feel if the customer has truly had a positive experience. Be sure to ask how many flights each customer has arranged with the company as this, more than anything, will give you an indication of the company's level of service and the customer's satisfaction.

Visit the Premises

If possible, visit the physical location of the charter company. You may have the opportunity to view the actual aircraft, and you'll be able to speak with the operator and possibly a pilot personally, which is always the best way to do business.
