Eclipse 500

What matters most? Getting from here to there in style? Or getting there with the best fuel efficiency and safety? Wouldn’t it be great if your jet could do it all? With the innovative styling and design of the Eclipse 500, you can.

The Eclipse 500 was treated as a truly revolutionary aircraft when it debuted in 1997. It’s no wonder there was so much enthusiasm for the Very Light Jet (VLJ) with so many terrific design elements and advanced technology incorporated into the design. The aircraft has the best fuel efficiency in the private jet industry, and it also has the graceful styling, interior detailing and powerful engines that one would expect in a private jet. It just so happens that this brand of luxury is available in one of the smallest private jets available in the world.

Seating up to six, the 500 VLJ has a richly appointed interior coupled with powerful technology to provide outstanding performance and safety. The 500 has always been a jet, even during the earliest stages of planning and as such was designed to encompass the most advanced technology available. With a focus on affordability and practicality while allowing for luxurious fun, the 500 blends the necessary with the unexpected to create a truly unique flying experience.

Powered by two 2 Pratt & Whitney Canada PW610F turbofans, the 500 has 900 lbf in each engine at take off. The exterior of the jet measures just over 33 feet long and 11 feet high. Inside, the jet seats four to six individuals comfortably in a cabin measuring twelve feet in length. The jet weighs only 3,634 pounds helping to keep fuel efficiency high. The smaller dimensions of the plane and total weight bring the jet into the Very Light Jet category, but Eclipse Aviation didn’t let size limit design.

Eclipse’s exclusive Total Aircraft Integration™ system bring safety technology to the general public that has never been available in this industry before. Avio NG centrally controls aircraft systems such as the avionics, engine operation, fuel system, flaps, landing gear, cabin pressure, and temperature. The system also works as a virtual co-pilot producing checklists and advanced information lightening the workload of the pilots and improving the overall safety of the aircraft, especially when manned by a single pilot.

Electronic circuit breakers, enhanced avionics functionality, dual-channel FADEC and autothrottle are just a handful of technologically advanced features available on the 500. Other features include:

PhostrEx™ next-generation fire suppression system
Circulating pneumatic boot de-icing system
Wet-wing fuel tank design
8,000-foot cabin pressure at a 41,000-foot cruise altitude
Sea-level cabin available up to 21,500 feet
A takeoff distance of 2,345 feet
A landing distance of 2,250 feet
A maximum altitude of 41,000 ft
A maximum cruise speed of 370 kt
