Eclipse Aviation

Eclipse Aviation is an Albuquerque, New Mexico based corporation that creates very light jets (VLJs). The company was formed in 1998 by a former Microsoft employee and has grown to include over 1300 employees. With the success of the Eclipse 500 and the introduction of the Eclipse ECJ, additional facilities have been planned with a facility in Gainesville, Florida already operational.

Very light jets by Eclipse include:

Eclipse 500 - Following the Cessna Citation Mustang, the Eclipse 500 is the second very light jet introduced to the market, the Eclipse 500 holds 6 passengers and currently has orders for more than 2,500 of the small plane.

Eclipse ECJ - Currently a concept plane, the ECJ will seat 1-4 passengers and fly using a single jet engine. Eclipse will decide this year if they will take the plane to production and if so, production may begin sometime in 2008.
