Gulfstream Aerospace

With its main facility in Savannah Georgia, Gulfstream Aerospace has been in the business of making private jet aircraft since 1957. The company was bought by General Dynamics in 1999 and continues to operate as a division of the larger company.

Gulfstream aircraft have been sold to companies, individuals, government and the military since the first turboprop Gulfstream 1 was produced in 1958. Over 1500 Gulfstream bizjets have been sold over the years and more than one quarter of the Fortune 500 companies currently own and operate their own Gulfstream aircraft.

Currently, Gulfstream Aerospace produces many private aircraft including:

· The G150 was originally the Astra SPX manufactured by Isreali Aircraft Industries and holds 6-8 passengers.

· The G200 was originally the Isreali Aircraft Industry Galaxy and holds 8-18 passengers.

· The G350 and G450 are two versions of the same design with no exterior difference. The G350 is simply the shorter range version of the G450. Both jets hold 12-19 passengers.

· G500 and G550 are improvements upon the Gulfstream V. The G550 has the longest flight range of any active business jet and the G500 is a shorter range version of the same plane. Both planes hold 14-19 passengers.

· The G650 was announced on March 13, 2008 and when it arrives on the market in 2012, the G650 will be the largest, fastest and most expensive business jet available.
